| The Singing Men of Note Chorus has been chosen, based on the submission of an audition CD to participate in the Peace Officers' Memorial Service on Sunday, May 15 in Washington DC. They were asked, for security purposes, to limit the size of the group to 25 individuals. The chorus asked for volunteers... men that would spend time at extra rehearsals, doing extra homework, and bear the expense of making the trip. As it turns out, it wasn't hard to find the guys interested in singing for out congressmen and for the President of the United States honoring our fallen police officers. | |||

May 2005 - the DC24 group rises real early after the previous night's show
and afterglow party to travel to downtown Chicago to appear on the Channel
5 morning show. This in order to raise funds for their trip to
Washington. The men have volunteered their time and, if necessary,
payment of the expense of representing their chapter and their society at
this Washington DC event - thought they are hoping to raise the necessary
contribution to help defray the expenses. If you would like to
donate, please send your check made out to South Cook Chapter - DC Trip
and send it to: A list of our supporters appears below. |

| The DC24
group has been specifically asked to sing our National Anthem at the
beginning of the service. In addition they have prepared
"America The Beautiful", "God Bless America",
"Precious Lord", "Traditional Blessing", and a brand
new song for the group... Brumm Brummm Brummm - "Battle Hymn of the
Republic".
The bulk of the members will arive early Saturday morning. There is a sound check scheduled for 2:00pm, after which the members will be given a VIP tour of the capital building and other national monuments. There will be a group dinner followed by a late practice. On Sunday, the service will begin at 12:00. Most members will return to Chicago southland that evening. Our thanks to all of our sponsors - we are ready to make you Proud to be Americans and supporters of the Singing Men of Note. |
